Alumni Update


Ninth Annual Honored Alumni Awards

Three graduates of the Department of Soil & Crop Sciences have been selected to be the ninth annual honored alumni award recipients. They are Richard Hecker, Kenneth Sayre and John Zupancic and will be our guests at our Honored Alumni Award Ceremony and Luncheon on September 11, 2011.

 

Dick Hecker

Richard Hecker

Dick is a 1964 alumnus of the Agronomy Department, currently called the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences at Colorado State University having received his Ph.D. in Plant Genetics.

He retired from his enjoyable and productive career in 1992 and lives in Frot Collins with his wife Diane.

 


Ken Sayre

Kenneth Sayre

Ken graduated from CSU in 1967 with a B.S. from the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences (formerly the Agronomy Dept.) with Crop Science as a major and Agronomy as a minor.

Ken currently serves as a Conservation Agriculture Agronomis in Asia for CIMMYTand lives with his wife, Martha, in Mexico City.


John Zupancic

John Zupancic

John received his B.S. from the Agronomy Department, now called the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, in 1979.

He is currently the vice-president of Technical Operations for BeneTerra LLC where he has partnered with three other businesses to manage wastewater streams.
